Heigl pulls name from Emmy contenders list
Katherine Heigl won the Emmy for best actress in a drama series in 2007.
Katherine Heigl will not be an Emmy contender this year. The “Grey’s Anatomy†star, who won Best Actress at the Emmys last year, has pulled her name from the list of contenders for the 2008 ceremony, blaming her withdrawal on the show’s scripts.
“I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention,” she told the Los Angeles Times’ Gold Derby.
During Heigl’s Emmy-wining Season 3 performance, “Grey’s Anatomy” was watched by 18.7 million for the season. Season 4 was seen by 14.4 million people on average.

Good for her. The media is making a fucking supercircus out of her saying she didn’t feel any of her material was worthy of an emmy. What the fuck is wrong with that!!!! You goddam dumb bastards will make up any fucking story and crucify her for a totally honest answer. She didn’t blame any writers. All she said was the scrips weren’t worthy of an Emmy. Big fucking deal. Leave her alone.
